New Jersey police investigate double murder

There are likely many people in New Jersey and across the country who would agree that family relationships can often be complicated. However, most families do not experience violence. Unfortunately, police have recently charged a man with murder in the deaths of his parents.

Police claim they became involved in the incident after receiving a request from the couple’s son to conduct a welfare check. When they arrived at the couple’s house, they allegedly discovered that the man and woman were deceased, reportedly due to knife wounds. Police apparently immediately suspected the couple’s other son of killing them.

Police reportedly searched for the man for hours after discovering his car parked in a grocery store parking lot. When they were unsuccessful in locating him, they reportedly pulled back from the vehicle. Reports indicate that he was taken into custody soon after when he returned to his vehicle.

New Jersey police claim that they are continuing to investigate the incident to “piece everything together.” In the meantime, it is unclear what police believe may have motivated the man’s alleged actions or why they suspect the son who is now charged with two counts of murder in addition to possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Because of the seriousness of the charges against him, the man will likely want an attorney with experience responding to such allegations on his side as he proceeds through the criminal justice system. With such help, he can study all aspects of his case, potentially including an examination of the man’s mental state.
